La cadena estadounidense Barneys fue la encargada de producir esta polémica campaña.
Barneys es una cadena de locales multimarcas de New York que lanzó una campaña navideña basada en los íconos de Disney pero con apariencia anoréxica.
Bajo el lema “Electic Holiday”, los íconos de Disney se han transformado en figuras excesivamente delgadas para aparecer en los diseños de los creadores más codiciados. Así, Mickey estará vestido por Nicolas Ghesquière (Balenciaga), Minnie por Alber Elbaz (Lanvin), Goofy por Olivier Rousteing (Balmain), Daisy por Dolce & Gabbana, Cruella por Rick Owens, la Princesa Tiana por Proenza Schouler y Blancanieves por Petter Copping (Nina Ricci).
Minnie Mouse y el resto de los personajes tienen una altura de 152 cm y 27 cm de ancho. Esta decisión ha traído varías críticas a la empresa multimarcas y ya cuenta con una petición de más de 130.000 firmas en su contra.
